CMG's Avatar Collection
« am: 19. Apr 2015, 00:18 »
My greetings to the international community
I'm glad that the final step to move our communities together worked well.  ;)

As many of you may have already noticed, it is some kind of tradition here on Modding-Union that most users pick an avatar that shows a Lord of the Rings- (or Hobbit-) character. Furthermore many of these avatars have a border made of an insciption, like the one on the One Ring.
But of cause it would be unrealistic to expect that too many people have the (Photoshop-) skills to create an avatar with this style.

That's the reason why I created a collection of avatars some time ago in the german part of the forum. In cooperation with Tiberius, I made the decision to present this collection to the english community as well.

If you want to use one of my avatars, you should accept some basic rules:

  • Only one avatar per user
This rule is very important for me. I want to keep my avatars and the people behind them unique. Everyone of you is an individual with an own opinion, own wishes and own creativity. The avatar should reflect that, so the person behind can be recognized easily. Every avatar in the list below is marked as available or not available. not available means, that the avatar is already taken by someone else. Please do not use an avatar that is marked red

The only restriction to this is the seperation of the international forum and the german forum. In fact I give an avatar out twice. To a german user and to an english user. But because not many german users write any posts in the english forum and noone from the english forum hangs around in the german forums, there shoulnd't be a problem with this. So if you encounter your "clone" from the german forum, don't react offended. It's very likely that both of you have my permission to use the avatar
  • Asking for permission
If you want to use one of the available avatars, just write a post asking for it in this topic. Once I have seen your post, I'll answer it and mark the avatar as not available and from that moment on it is your's  ;)
  • Returning an avatar
If you decide that you don't want to use your avatars any longer, please contact me, so I can make them available again for the others.

Thanks guys  :)

By the way I do not see yours in the list. :D Why?
Well, because the Balrog was always some kind of trademark of mine around this forum. So I won't give that one away.  xD

It is interesting to see that the good guys seem to be more wanted in the international community. Female characters are also picked more often.
In the german forum, it's the other way round. There the evil guys are picked more often and male charakters are wanted.   :D

I really like Balin's quote.  :)
How choose suitable quote? Are you doing it randomly or you have some special selection for this?

Usually I prefer songs or poems from the books which have something to do with the character. If there is no suitable poem or song, I choose a memorable quote that describes the character best.

Ok, take him  ;)

Edit: The Mouth of Sauron was one of my early works. The Avatar didn't have the same quality as my latest works. So I reworked it a little bit.  ;)
