i think i've even read that the Author of Fire and Ice even said that none of his dragons were a match for Smaug (atleast the Movie Smaug)... and Ancalagon is a few (thousand) times worse...

Indeed. That blondy's pet was almost mortally wounded from some spears and knives. Smaug is impervious to everything but a certain type of arrows shot on a certain single weak spot  [ugly]
The Talgerians used whole armies of dragons to rule Westeros. Smaug single handedly exterminated one of the most powerful kingdoms at the time.

I know it's not that accurate of a comparison, but hey we're all Tolkien fanatics  [uglybunti]
