Walküre:

--- Zitat ---Nerwen, Princess of Kôr, thy grand deeds shall ever-present be in hearts and memory that doth not end,
In glory thy story people are to narrate, as thou makest miracles and the cause of the Good forever thou hast served.

Walküre:
It is surely a quite simple rendition, but it is very much significant: the lyrics of both Finrod and Sauron turn into magic, while narrating the beauty of the physical world and the sorrowful tragedies that the Noldor had to go through. The connection between magic and poetry is a very much recurrent theme in Tolkien's writings and in literature in general. Only in the Elder Days could sung words bend someone's will or undo the stone (as Lúthien did). Magic is might!

Walküre:
In no way would I ever discredit LOTR, but this picture is a quite accurate portrayal of the situation. The masterpiece of Tolkien, the trilogy, has definitely very solid pillars from which the whole narration evolved and progressed marvellously!

Walküre:
At the gravest hour, Eärendil showed up in the sky with a fleet of all the creatures of the air that respond to Manwë. The Winged Dragons are caught by utter surprise and they quickly try to counter that new situation. A terrible fight in the wind derives, and the light which the Jewel emanates keeps at bay the fiercest enemy and brought victory to the Good's side.

Walküre:
Another honourable tribute to the Princess of Kôr 8-)
