Does anyone know if it's possible to make a macro that would swap the roaming folders when you run the launchers? Ie if I open 3.8 it moves the 3.8 roaming folder from a storage location and removes the 4 roaming folder to a storage location? I'm pretty sure the roaming folder is the only thing that needs to change...

You don't need to change the roaming folder. All edain parts are in the folder in the program path.^^

You can use this strategy:
Install Rotw, patch it to 2.01.
Install 3.81.
Copy the folder to another place and rename it to 'Edain 3.81'
Afterwards install 4.0. The installer will always look for the original folder (original path, original name), therefore it won't changed the copied folder.
The exe in the copied folder will start 3.81, the other one 4.0 :)

I can get them to run okay, but I was getting a CTD when trying to play battles in 4 after having payed some in 3.8.1. do the profiles need to have the same name? or a different one?

Turin Turumbar:
You will use the same profile for both. Just make sure your last game was with a faction present in both versions, like Gondor or Mordor, or the game will crash when you enter the skirmish menu.
