Caras Galadhon: A Elven Fortress Map

Thanks guys! Im really happy i managed to bring a bit of the Lorien
feeling to the map. I want to get done with the Edain-like version,
so i can focus on the fortress map and make the bridges work
properly. Atm theyre very... experimental, heh.

Hmm, you can't find it in the map list at the skirmish screen?
I named it *Caras Galadhon*, the first version as a 1vs1 map.
Usually if you click to order by type it in the left column, it will ordenate
and put handmade maps in the end (a tool icon).
Maybe theres some steps i must do to make it playable?

Hehe, nice to hear!! Im tempted to make a alternate entrance, like a hidden path in and out of the fortress, using a narrow path on the corners. Theres also the harbor to be worked on! In the future, if i learn scripting properly, i want to give Galadriels Mirror some interaction, similar to the hero skill itself.

I dont know whats happening, the map should be there.. =/ I reuploaded the files with different names from the original Edain map, so if theres any problem with duplicate names causing a error, that should solve it. You can normally open the maps on WB?
Afaik, it should be working just by dropping the folder in /maps... Guess ill summon the mighty Gnomi for some advice on this one. XD
I hope you manage to test it, looking forward for yr impressions!

This is really Majesty in its purest state, I would say (**)
It's like I always imagined it.
Enormous and really sensational, a gigantic Elven Palace/City in the middle of an enchanted Wood.
And those huge trees are great too, taking into consideration that the millennial Mallorn Trees of Lórien are, if I'm not wrong, two or three times the size of the biggest sequoias :o
The features that could be implemented in the future sound interesting too, and very characteristic.
I sincerely think that, with the needed help to fix bugs, balance and graphical issues and other things, this could rightly and legitimately 'claim' its space in the Edain Mod as a regular map among the other ones, as Minas Tirith, Isengard or Rivendell.
Thank you again, magickoala, I didn't really expect and hope to see anymore anything Lothlórien-related, apart from the current great map.
It's a dream come true, I hope ;)

:) Thanks Wal! You really make me want to keep going with mapping! heh^^ And yea, Mallorn trees are supposed to be the tallest in all MiddleEarth, challenging Gondor Orthanc / White tower in size! :)
It would make me very happy if the map reach its final stage of polishing and could be implemented into hoho's and DrHouse flavor pack; They have awsome maps in hand and it will be a great add-on to Edain features, so adding Caras Galadhon to that pack would be awsome! :)
But atm i don't know how to fix the bridges. Im learning with Gnomi but still i dont see a proper way to make those work (If someone have a suggestion of how to do it, pls share, since im kinda stuck on that with the Fortress map).
Right now im trying to create a elevator using the mallorn tree object itself. Deep coding its like a dark art for me, isnt coming easy as design, so its a harsh road, but im learning! If someone can share codes of a easy way to do it, would be great :)
Notheless, ill keep working on the Fortress map details, balance, AI and texturing, to make it even more unique! :)
