Well, it's basically the armour of AUJ 
I think we could see it as an attempt to seek for an alternative vision than the very vanilla one.
I personally like it.

I really hope to see his mother-in-law, in case she will be overhauled as well

I really like that lancer's skin and Elrond's new look is epic. I like that AUJ armor, it is amazing!

Yes, I hope.

But, don't forget that she actually appears also in the Evil Campaign of BFME2 (in the first mission and in the last one) as the bright Elven Queen 
So, this might be an improbable wish in an already-unsure wish.
