About Quickbeam and Treebeard
« am: 11. Sep 2016, 17:00 »
Good morning, community. How are we all? :D

I am making this topic to start a debate about Quickbeam's existance in this game. I have a proposal, which I will explain along this debate, which consists basically of two things: removing Quickbeam as a hero from this game and modifying Treebeard (giving him Quickbeam's ability to make ent's production faster, giving him a poor heal rate and increasing his price considerably).

Some things, such as the fact that Lothlorien already have so many heroes and the fact that Quickbeam does not even have a unique skin, made me start to wonder if is it a good thing to have him as a hero afterall.

What do you think? :)

I like the inclusion of characters from the books. So yeah, no need to remove him.

I'm against removing him, he's a nice addition to Lothlorien. As of his ability it fits him perfectly, being younger Quickbeam was always quite hasty in terms of Ents. He was the first to want to attack Isengard and pushed the other Ents to do so. Although he is technically not as much of a Leader as Treebeard the Ent politics seem to show that anybody can start the war as long as they've got a good reason behind it.

That wiki pic only shows 2 out of the 3 ent variants, the third variant is almost identical to Quickbeam except Quickbeam is a more dark green and may have a few leafs here and there.

I don't think he should be removed, it is so awesome to have an angry Ent just from the beginning, and his fast recruitment ability is outstanding. I almost use him more than Treebeard.

Nope. He also has a different body, only the head is similiar (though not identical):

Its still to similar imo, the fact that people confuse it with being almost identical is bad. (btw this isn't a major ground breaking catastrophe just saying it'd be nice for him to stand out and have his model be more memorable like your other works.)

Left aside graphical matters (which are usually not so easy to deal with in discussions), I strongly oppose the removal of Quickbeam too or altering his current role; all the needed conceptual and gameplay arguments have already been presented in the previous remarks.
