Changing spell books abilities
« am: 16. Dez 2016, 11:10 »
Hi people !

I have three questions for a long time who wanted to ask the developers. First:. Why dwarves same spellbook ??? In Imladris and Lothlorien book different spells at Gondor and Arnor, it is also different, and why it dwarves the same ??? Developers try very hard to do that every fraction unique, beautiful and playable, but about the book of spells like that ??? forgotten. Secondly, each faction has its own characteristics, and the book of spells could improve the perception of the faction. In the third: the dwarves were known as the greatest builders and blacksmiths in Middle-earth, and the spell book is not particularly emphasizes this aspect. For example in Gondor have the ability to repair the building and Beregond completely defensive character of Gondor and there is nothing like the dwarves. Because costs can change / edit multiple abilities ???
I want to share with you a couple of ideas:

Common to all factions troh

Fortress - the call of the fortress as it is now, but each faction she bude have different weapons and abilities, such as a passive abilities such as a crease or the addition of armor nearby troops, or something else, and weapons (for the Iron Hills instead catapults you can put the ballista which will has increased damage montstram)

Erebor

Repair of the building - like Gondor
Allies of the Dale - on time encourages Girion and two units Dale (units can be done with axes and bows)
Dwarves gates - on the building to become invulnerable
Son of Durin - on time, all the characters get rapid recovery of their abilities

Iron Hills

Repair of the building - like for Gondor
Before callings Army Lwin - temporarily encourages Thorin, Train, Balin, Dvalin and three or four Elite squad
Dwarves gates - on the building to become invulnerable
Mail Iron Hills - selected squad gets armor

Ered Luin

Repair of the building - like Gondor
Call Beorn - as it is now but Beorn is called a bear disguise (he needs a little bit to enhance the damage and armor as well as the ability)
Call Gandalf - as it is now only possible to add it one more ability as a leader. It will be available only for Ered Luin
Iron Hills Help - call Dain and 3 Elite Squad
Сall for eagles

Of course this is only a couple of ideas but very much hope that other players also make suggestions and support topic !!! Thank you all for your attention

Afaik it's technically not possible to give the dwarven factions different spellbooks. They didn't forget that, they just can't change it.

Exactly. It's not possible to have the Dwarves dispose of different spellbooks, unless the current system is going to be radically changed. An alternative path could consist of following the example of Arnor: that is, dividing the three Dwarven factions completely and making them map features. In regards of alternative scenarios, though, I doubt that something similar will ever happen, as the Dwarves are already well unique and fitting for the game's criteria.

Therefore, according to the said premises and gameplay generalities, this proposal is simply not feasible.

Correct. Nevertheless, since this proposal is endlessly repeatung itself, I'd like to mention that it is possible to make the same spells do certain things differently: E.g. it is possible to change summons according to the sub-faction you've chosen or to change e.g. the exact modifiers of "Rallying Call", etc.
Things that cannot be changed (at least not without extreme difficulties, it might work via scripts like in the Radagast spell -even then the spellstore where you buy the spells is almost certainly a fixed environment) are the description, the picture and the overall nature of a spell. (E.g. "Durin's day" (or whatever it's name is) can never be a changed into a generic summon.) Also (see above) the staticness of the spellstore means, the structure can't be changed.
However, if someone thinks, it might be productive that e.g. Iron Hills gets a different effect for Rallying Call -that is technically possible (with the limitations mentioned above).
