Antique Lyrics of Arda

<< < (24/253) > >>

Walküre:
The Invocation of the King

King of all kings, prime Vala and regent of Eä itself,
We invoke thee in times of strife, when naught seemeth to bear the test.

Lord of the air and of all creatures of the skies the guide,
We invoke thee in times of joy, when all by jubilee is rekindled.

Thou governest in wisdom and with just rule,
So that we may prosper and carry on with our life.

Thou hast immense mercy, supreme king,
And thy magnanimity even to the foulest was once offered.

Walküre:
And Tulkas on Eä descended

Eternal clashes in the darkness of ancestral eras, when Arda was being built and reality crafted,
The Evil wanted to disrupt the labours of the Powers, and Tulkas on Eä descended, to battle for the salvation of the Plan.

Walküre:
The Silent Deep I

Silence, silence is everywhere,
Merry feasts and warm hearths are longer here,
Where are all the industrious miners and their fatigues?
Where are the mighty guardians of these great halls, envy of all people of Middle-earth?

Walküre:
The Silent Deep II

None is left there, but mute sorrow and tragedy,
The dwellers of these mines the worst of the fates encountered,
Darkness and fell flames their greed awakened,
And drums, many drums in that void would be heard...

Walküre:
The Silent Deep III

And a fellowship of brave these eerie tunnels dared to enter,
Compelled by the magnitude of their task,
Unrest they caused and an elder bane woke from his sleep,
With an epic duel on the bridge all ended, electing the wizard the path of sacrifice.
