Antique Lyrics of Arda

<< < (31/253) > >>

Walküre:
Nay, them we shall not forget

The Vanyar recall their parting from Beleriand.

Nay, we didn't forget those mortal souls,
For war we had sailed and for our parting in peace none had wailed.

Walküre:
What lies beneath

Many foul things hide and lurk in the pits of the mines,
Deadly, terrible and of an odious kind,
Yet fouler beings below what is known dwell,
The darkest flames and ancient sentinels of water beneath lie.

Walküre:
The Regent

All-powerful he is not, nor did he cause Eä to be,
Yet to him the holy rule of the firmament was given, to reign over all Arda's dwellers.

Walküre:
The Lighthouse of the Free

Darkness took our ruined city by the river,
Where many memories lie undimmed,
The wraiths seek to unleash the fell arsenal of their force,
Winged nightmares in the sky, that the White Rider dispelled with the purest light.

Walküre:
A beacon in the heath

Out of the woods, on her way to Rivendell to meet with Elrond, Galadriel rides fast in the night across the heaths of Rohan and she's noticed by someone.

Farewell, this to her beloved domain and vassals she had bidden,
Bound to relinquish her rule and from mortal shires to depart,
She rode lonely to meet her high-lineage kind, headed to the western harbours,
A beacon in the cold of the night she was, and a waning light on her finger she wielded, enlightening the frozen heath with a pale light.
