Antique Lyrics of Arda

<< < (9/253) > >>

Walküre:
Gathering Shadows: The gentle Wood-elves of Mirkwood, who once inhabited the southern forests, after a millennium of peace, learnt in horror that a nameless shadow had taken residence in the ruined fortress which lay not far from their dwellings.

Peace seems to have been finally marred,
A nameless shadow from the outer world, the eerie fortress as lair elected,
Tales say it is much old and by hatred deeply consumed,
Voices we shall believe, as trees now rot and from venom naught seems immune.

Walküre:
Gathering Shadows: The Journey through the woods.

As days get darker and grave, our king the hardest path decided to tread,
To lead his people away from such relentless threat,
And so our merry homes and lands we must abandon,
For of war we are all much weary, and of pain our heart still bears the burden.

Walküre:
The New Foundation of the Woodland Realm: Thranduil's address.

To the North we headed and great halls in the stone we carved,
None shall enter nor flee from my rule, towards the outside fortunes cold we are, for in a blink kingdoms and realms arise and decay.

Walküre:
Ulmo, the Dweller of the Deep.

Never has one of the Powers been so dearer to the Eldar than Ulmo, Lord of oceans and seas,
He, who in forbidden depths dwells and naught disregards, all senses and sees,
Seas, rivers and streams anything that occurs on mortal shores to his ears bring,
And the Evil hates and much fears him, for water may not be snared nor tamed.

Walküre:
Balrogs.

Bright spirits of light and wisdom they once were,
Until the Evil tainted them and terrible characters became in the lore.
