Edain Mod 4.5.3 released!

Greetings, companions of Edain!

Today we released patch 4.5.3 for the demo of Edain version 4.0. You can download it by using the update-function in your Edain Launcher.

In case you don't have a version of Edain installed already, you first have to download the basic version as a complete package by clicking on the banner below. After installing Edain, use the Update Function of the Edain Launcher to get the latest version. You may have to update several times until the launcher shows that no newer version is available anymore.

Two new dwarven Ringheroes: Dain and Durin VII.

Both the dwarves of the Iron Hills and the dwarves of the Lonely Mountain are being lead into battle by new Ringheroes in Edain 4.5.3. While the young Dain Ironfoot, lord of the Iron Hills, ultimately succumbs to his rage and turns into an unstoppable berserker, the young Durin VII. steps up for the dwarves of Erebor. His mission is to reclaim the halls of his forefathers, the great dwarven city of Khazad-Dûm!



Settlements of Gondors

A lot has changed for the settlement buildings of Gondor. The Ranger Tent has become an economy building that produces resources that discounts Rangers. On higher levels, Composite Bows are available for research. Rangers can now be recruited in a level two Archery Range or level three Ranger Tents. And the Signal Fires have been optimised again, function much smoother and more intuitively, and received an entirely new model to boot!


New maps

In Edain 4.5.3 you can take the battle to your enemy on several new maps! Three old fortresses have been reactivated and made playable for the fixed buildplot system: Framsburg, Caras Galadhon and the fortress of Cair Andros. Many new and special Skirmish maps have been added, from the Orocarni in the east of Middle-Earth to Naith, located in the Golden Wood. And last but not least: Helms Deep has been added as a horde map! The great fortress of the people of Rohan needs to be defended against the hordes of the fallen Istari Saruman. You can get a first impression of these maps in this video!


Tweaked spellbook powers

The new spellbooks have been one of the biggest changes we made in 4.5. A few months later, you gave us a lot of valuable feedback to improve upon them even further. Rivendell's Resting Place can now level up to unlock more powerfull bonuses; Lone Towers of both Dwarves and Gondor can be garrisoned; Overseers and Banners of the Red Eye have swapped places, making Overseers a far more integral part of Mordor's gameplay. But most importantly, we were able to implement a completely new kind of spell: Both the dwarven Runes and Isengard's Minions of the White Hand are now unlocked individually, meaning each Rune can be unlocked one at a time!

Global:
-Most heroes can now be recruited in military buildings such as barracks or stables
-Trample damage of cavalry reduced by 20%
-Armor of cavalry archers weakened
-New buttons and palantir icons for everyone!
-Inflation weakened
-External farms increase in price when they level up
-HP bonuses of economy buildings Wirtschaftsgebäuden on higher level reduced to 1000 (external)/1500(internal)
-Forged Tools split into two separate upgrades for internal and external farms
-Siegeworks buildcost from 600 to 400
-Outposts buildcost from 1200 to 800
-Towers on buildplots buildcost from 600 to 800
-Light rams buildcost from 300 to 200
-Heavy rams buildcost from 400 to 300
-CP of rams reduced from 20 to 10

Gondor:
-Errand Riders spawn every 75 seconds, down from 90
-Veterans of the fiefdoms cost reduced from 10 to 8


Rohan:
-Horse archers  buildcost from 600 to 800
-Druedain statue cooldown reduced from 360s to 210s
-Druedain can now only be summoned at statues that have been on the battlefield for at least 45 seconds
-Grimbold, Erkenbrand and Elfhelm are now recruited at level one
-Lifetime of Haldirs Galadhrim reduced from 90 to 60 seconds
-Haldirs Galadhrim no only spawn three batallions, down from four


Isengard:
-Palantir Lifetime from 90 to 30 seconds, vision range from 850 to 750, cooldown from 180 to 150


Mordor:
-Mouth of Sauron: Dissent moved to level 10
-Nekromancer buildcost increased from 1000 to 1600
-Cirith Ungol Hellebardiers now require Influence of Sauron to be recruited
-Melee damage of Mountain Trolls against units increased by 33%
-Morgul Blade and Shelob's web duration reduced to 5/7 seconds respectively (down from ten)
-Shelob summon knockback strength reduced
-Armor of trolls against pikemen reduced
-Easterling upgrades are now displayed properly


Dwarves:
-Ravens again debuff enemies, but not as much as in 4.5
-Mineworkers nerfed against citadels
-Battlewagons slow down less, are more durable against swordsmen and gain experience more quickly
-Forge buildcost reduced from 1000 to 800
-Iron Hills scouts buildtime reduced significantly, buildtime of the Ram Rider batallion increased
-Bolt Thrower damage increased from 125 to 175
-Battle Wagon Equipment researchtime reduced from 90 to 60 seconds
-Battlewagon buildcost from 600 to 500
-King Dain banner range increased from max. 200 to max. 400
-Dain Ironfoot: Lifetime of ruptured earth increased from 20 to 30 seconds, radius from 175 to 250
-Erebor and Iron Hills Guardians: +10% damage and hp
-Weapon Art of the Dwarves now additionally increases the production speed of Forges by 15%
-Nori Ambush damage reduced from 200 to 150

Lothlorien:
-Borderguards are recruited more quickly
-Ambush of the Wood-Elves duration increased from 15 to 20 seconds
-Galadhrim range increased
-Width of Mystic River increased, duration increased
-Slow reduced from 50% to 40%, but increases by 5% every 30 seconds
-Forge buildcost from 650 to 1000
-Reloadtime of Haldirs Galadhrim and Mirkwood Archers standardized
-Singers buildcost increased from 300 to 500
-Sanctuaries no longer discount heroes, but single entities
-Caras Galadhon Guardians gain experience less quickly
-CG Guardians hp reduced
-Galadriel damage reduced from 150 to 100
-Mystic River vision range reduced from 300 to 100
-Arrow Volley radius reduced from 100 to 90


Imladris:
-Lindon units can't be recruited unless Cirdan has been recruited
-The Resting Place can level up now by allies fighting nearby; it buffs the speed of allies at level two and can summon defensive Elven Princes at level three
-Library: Erestor moved from level three to level one, economy upgrades unlocked at level two and three
-Library buildcost reduced from 1500 to 1000
-Veterans of the Last Alliance now use the correct skin
-Dunedain infantry can now be recruited without needing Troop Tents


Angmar:
-Gulzar autoattack damage type from MAGIC to HERO_RANGED
-Karsh buildcost increased from 1600 to 2100
-Dire Wolves Spiked Collars buildcost reduced from 300 to 200
-Drauglin Razor Crescents damage reduced from 120 to 100
-Drauglin Wolfpack damage reduced from 120 to 100, no longer knocks down heroes
-Recruitment structure of Mornamarth and Helegwen swapped, Zaphragor moved to the Sorcerer's Tower, Gulzar moved to the Hall of Twilight
-Karsh Shadow Stride stun duration reduced from 10 to 7 Sekunden
