Unit Soundset info
(1/1)
Watcher:
Greetings companions.
I was recently browsing the Age of the Ring Wiki and stumbled upon the sight of Soundset information found within unit pages (for example; Dain is specified to be voiced by Sean McGregor). And so I began wondering if the Edain Wiki should include this as well?
For instance: below the OBJECT NAME of, say, the Gondor Soldiers, you will find SOUNDSET: Vanilla Gondor Soldiers. Or perhaps below Legolas's OBJECT NAME you would find SOUNDSET: Vanilla Legolas, Orlando Bloom.
Why do I suggest this? It would make identifying the Soundsets easier, for one; esspecially the unique ones that are not part of BfME (currently those can be found under the individual units Trivia... and not all pages have this). And I just think it looks neat :D
I realise that, if this is approved, it will be a quite large undertaking, but I'm willing to do my part.
I watch from the waters for replies.

That's a good idea. I've added a voice paramater to the templates of heroes and units so you can now source their audio set. Adding the voice is as simple as going on the page of a hero or unit and adding the following line to the template infobox:
--- Code: ---|voice=Orlando Bloom
--- Ende Code ---
Edain is currently in the process of getting original voices to replace the community-sourced soundbites that were removed. I think it'd be a good idea to try and stay ahead of the curve, your suggestion is quite timely in that aspect.
I don't know how much time I'll be able to dedicate to it since I've got my own list of To-Dos that I need to address but if you need any help feel free to give me a wave.

Great, thanks :)

I realized something, if you're using the visual editor you don't need to add the |voice= bit. Just put the name of the voice actor. I forgot the visual editor was a thing.
Also, it's good practice to have a look at the page you've edited after you save to make sure nothing has gone wrong.
