Can't run RotWK without a crack – need help

(1/1)

Vortexos:
I'm on the verge of giving up and trying one last time here. I really enjoy playing the Edain Mod and would love to play it with friends. However, on our first attempt, we always had different game versions (probably due to the No-CD crack, as I read).

Now I am desperately searching for a way to run the game without a crack. I have an image that I used to install the game. However, when I mount it normally, I always get the message that I need to insert the CD.

I have tried using Virtual CloneDrive, Daemon Tools, and Alcohol 120%.
With Daemon Tools, I also attempted to create an SCSI drive and test it that way – unfortunately, without success.

I read that the combination of an MDX file and Alcohol 120% should work, but it didn't for me. The image was not read correctly, and I was always asked to select another one. Maybe I did something wrong, but I don’t know what.

I downloaded Mini-Images (MDS and MDF) from TheSmokingMan, but they didn’t work either. I also read that Daemon Tools version 4.48 might help, but my system outright refuses to install that version.

I have tried launching the game from the virtual CD, via a desktop shortcut, and directly from the installation directory – no luck.

Now my head is spinning, and I'm really frustrated since I don’t know much about this technical stuff. Does anyone have a tip?

Installed Versions:

Battle for Middle-earth 2: Version 1.06
Rise of the Witch King: Version 2.01
System: Windows 11

The_Necromancer0:
Our recommendation if you suffer from this issue is to use the All in One launcher. It is an easy way to install and play the games.

Vortexos:
Good morning,

I installed it yesterday (unfortunately it took until this morning with Edain) and we are going to test it now. The game has started in any case and I always have the correct version.

Thanks for the tip, even if I'm a bit speechless that this good piece has passed me by Oo
