I am new to this forum so apologise in advance if this is a double post or this comment is in the wrong section. Has it been suggested that Gondor receives a ballista / bolt thrower? It would be a slightly cheaper alternative to the trebuchet. The weapon would be manned by three soldiers and could be deployed from the siege works. The ballista would have rapid shots and be more effective against moving targets including air combatants. The bolts themselves could be upgraded with flaming shots. The bolts  would be highly effective against heavily armoured targets like trolls etc. They could also inflict knock back damage to smaller units and heroes.
An armour upgrade would allow for a shield plate at the front of the ballista to reduce damage from peircing attacks. There is a picture of such a weapon on the warhammer lord of the rings web site. I would be interested to hear what other people think about adding a different element so siege / defensive warfare in the game.

A little note from my side to you:
Is this a mistake of yours or why do you write your post in English on a board where exclusively German posts blong to? For me it is no problem at all but I suggest you enter your concerns in the English boards and they will be answered as well  :)

Your conception sounds Ok but I challenge if it is accepted by the Edain team. Honestly I do not want to appear offensive but I suppose the Team will not like it. It is just the point that the Gondorian in Edain have a strong atillery ( one of the strongest by far next to the dwarfs) and for example  Isendard has a weaker atillery esspecially the ballista which therefoe costs only the half of the price. If Gondor got a second but weaker attillery it is overpowered indeed. You also have to remind that it has to have an accordance with the movie or book and there is nothing mentioned about ballistas.
Anyway do not stop posting your ideas there will definatley occurr very good ones but this just wont be accepted.

i will vote for it if it will be more expsnsive than the trebuchet
