Great work! I can't wait to play your Submod.
Especially the new Minas Tirith Trebuchet and the dwarven chariot are something I always wanted to see in Edain.
I also like the new Rhudaur-Spearman and the other new models.  :)

All the maps will be fixed in the submod, me and the team will try them to avoid the bugs and crashes.

Great work! I can't wait to play your Submod.

Golden King of Harad

Like for Khand, I will reveal all the units goals in an article when I will finish the Art part.

Big thanks to Tiamat EA which allow me to use some of his content like I said in the Hidar article (the two guard was originally made by him).

The naval settlement plot will allow the players to build up their naval buildings.
This is exactly the same things that the other plots but for the naval maps.

The naval outpost plot will allow the players to build up their naval outposts.

Khand: Gízkhâr

Gízkhâr is a desert and rocky land located in the South of Khand. This area is one of the hunting ground of Variags. A land where the orcs deserter of the Mordor armies try to flee the influence of Sauron and, become the preys of Variags.

This map is a basic skirmish where the player can play Khand instead of Mordor.

The Khand Battering-Ram will be a siege weapon of the faction which can be upgraded:
- Animal skin: add resistance against fire damages
(This upgrade make the Battering-Ram resitant the ennemy archers with fire arrows posed on the walls when you want to take a castle for exemple).

The interior part of the model is made thanks to the Edain gondor's one that I modified.

Hi all!
I go in holiday tomorrow for two weeks, I will so not be able to update the mod page during this period. My team member are always able to answer you question or to show some content but we principally work on coding these last times (this is for that than we don't post picture of our work) but no worry, our work is progressing.

Before leaving, I post a little preview of the next model coming, a rework of the Royal Barracks but this is not all, I will also make something for the people which want to look how we make models (a sort of video tutorial with some note I think).
This not mean that I will make that directly when I return from vacation, I think I'll have a lot of work with my studies and submod (this kind of tutorial takes time to achieve) I will take my time to show you all that.

For the last realm of the dwarves, we decided to give this subfaction boars. Erebor in Edain Mod takes place in the Third Age after the War of the Ring. After the Battle of the Five Armies, Thorin got mortally injured, so the title as King under the Mountain passed to Lord Dain. As King under the Mountain, Dain founded a new kingdom. A lot of dwarves from the Iron Hills settled there with their families, but also with their animals like boars and pigs, which they used to have there, to live in prosperity and wealth. Also the city of Dale and Esgaroth got rebuilt and the dwarves had a good relationship with the Men of Dale and Laketown, making them even more prosperous with the good trades they had in the south.

The Boars in our Submod will have a special upgrade, which buffs their melee damage. They will of course get a visual update, like steel for their teeth to protect them when attacking the enemies. This should emphasize the aspect, that Erebor focuses on attack damage, while the other two realms focus more on armor and mobility.

Hi all! Today I want to show you the last progress on Gandalf. As you can see, he have some new spells that we still didn't introduced. On the gif picture, you can see when it is using his regular distance attack (note that this part is still in work).
We also reworked the CommandSet like suggested us The_Necromancer0.

Hi everyone! I come back from a long absence with all the work accomplished on the new Khand texture that you can see on this picture.
A lot of others are coming (for Khand but also for the other faction). And that, because since two mounth now I learn how to draw my own textures (before that I used principally pictures of google and the weta workshop and texture files of the oppen-source game like 0.A.D).
Now Khand units have all an own texture (in our old version infantry, cavalry and elite units had all the same armor texture). You can also observe the new helmets models.

I will update the Khand plans article to explain what textures are for what units when I will finish to rework all the textures (we still need to work on 5 of them but now the work should progress faster).

Khand Infantry + Advent Calendar introduction

Hello everyone!
Today and after a long absence, we want to say you that we will be more active during this last month of the year.

To wait for Christmas, we decided to develop a sort of Advent Calendar.
The idea is the following : Each day of the week and until the December 24th, we will post a spécial content about Khand. We worked a lot on this faction to make it as unique as we could and now, we want to share its story with you.

We will therefore offer you an assortment of a lots of picture, accompanied by descriptions and historical facts on our Khand faction.
Of course you have to take into account that we invented all these story elements (often inspired by real historic fact). They so should not be considered as canonical LotR content.

Note that we will start all that tomorrow. We notwithstanding post a small picture to make you wait. We will give more explanation on that "Khand Regular Infantry" on tomorrow.

Hi all! As promised, here are the first details about Khand's regular infantry.

Historical summary : Regular Infantry

The soldier of the regular infantry of Ûbesêsh come for every places of Khand. Formerly Variags of the tribes of Engkêtät, Jírkuul, Kêgth and other ones... all are now united under Ûbesêsh's banner to form the largest army that Khand has ever seen.

They are light unit but handle weapons with great violence. Their fighting style allows them to be very effective during an ambush.
However, they are not trained to fight against heavy soldiers and their armors is not really resistant to the arrows. Their strength therefore lies in the surprise and knowledge of the ground.


FIGHTERS :
The Khand Fighters are regular units. This means that they are capable of adapting to a lot of battle situations. Even if the armor is not their strong point, they can still besiege cities if they are in large numbers and equipped with the right strategy.
The best way to use them is still to encircle your enemy to attack him from all sides.

SPEARMEN :
The Khand Spearmen are regular units able to easly defeat the enemy cavalry. Unlike the usual units of spearmen, the Khand Spearmen are trained for the attack and should not only be used to block the enemy cavalry charges. Indeed, they are the less resistant units of Khand against the arrows and, the player can easely kill them with archers if they are not constaintly moving.

ARCHER :
The Khand Archers are regular units greatly efficient in ambushes situations. As long the stay at the right distance, they are particulary murderous soldiers.

Like for other regular units of the game, the Khand Regular units can be improved by researching them upgrades (Forged Blades, Fire Arrows and Heavy Armors). A way to reduce their weaknesses.

Historical summary : Khentïyh riders

Hi everyone! Today it's the turn of the Variags of Khentïyukh. Hope you will like them. See you tomorrow!

Historical summary:

The Khentïyh was a tribe of Variags which lived in the region of "Khentïyukh", a place at the East of the "Desert of Kêjkâh".
Khentïyukh is particularly fire-prone area because of it is a dry land away from any water point. The Khentïyh who lives here, know the fires and the damage they cause better than anyone.
A knowledge they use when they comes to looting and burning the villages of their enemies. When a group of Khentïyh has attacked a village, there stay only ashes and charred corps in it.

However, these repetitive fires prevent them from setting up any campement or village. They are the only Variags tribe which don't lives in Yurts. Instead of, they hide in caves with their supply and loots, into the mountains of Üghûl Kâhtïykh.
Envious to live on lands less prone to fire, they often went to war against Engkêh, another Khan located a little more at south. But, they're more looters that strong warriors and each battle became defeat. As they can't beat the armies of Engkêh, they're then forced to keep on their position and with their risked lifes.

Until the day when Ûbesêsh, the Khan of Ûmkhân defeated Engkêh and proposed to the Khentïyh tribes to join him in his conquest, in exchange of what, he promised them to give them a land away from these land which had caused them so much suffering.

Preview : The Khentïyukh map

Hi everybody!
Yesterday, we introduced the story of the Khentïyh, we want now to show you Khentïyukh the region where they live.

Like we said, Khentïyukh  is a parched, rocky and desert land. Far from any water point, it does not allow its inhabitants to build any building on it. The Khentïyh so decided to live in cave under the mountains of Üghûl Kâhtïykh also called "the Brown Montains".
 
Today we so decided to show you two previews of the map of Khentïyukh and especially of the Khentïyh's caves.

Variags (Khand people):

Hi! today we want to show you a little thing, the Khand inhabitant model.

"Variag" is the name given to the people who live in the lands of Khand.
Like for the other factions, we wanted some citizens un our maps. It's a pretty good way to give life to the cities or camps.
We so decided to make that model which will have some variation elements like the face for for example.

Yes, like for the gondor civilian in Minas Tirith for example. We will put them on the cities/camps and in some wild map because the variags are nomadic people in our submod.

The enemy will be able to kill them like other units during a siege.

Tûvshinbât, "Cherbí"

Hello! We know that you already know his story (if ou have read our Khand plans article), but we want to show you his new appearence (he have now his own armor).
Note that we will bring you some new elements on his story during the coming days ^^

Historical summary:
Tûvshinbât was on the side of Ûbesêsh from the beginning of his reign, he is a part of his oldest soldiers.
He is a Variag of Ûmkhân, a land in the far north of Khand.

Tûvshinbât was a experimented warriors but also a good commander having more than once proved his bravery.
When Ûbesêsh planned to invade all the Khand's lands, he graded Tûvshinbât to the rank of infantry commander, after some battles Tûvshinbât become the main battle advisor of Ûbesêsh.
After that Ûbesêsh became the Khaghân of Khand, Tûvshinbât was appointed chief of the Khan personal guardsmen and swore to protect his Khan until death.

One day, Tûvshinbât was patrolling next to the Near Harad" with a few numbers of men when he was attacked by sevaral half-trolls. He did not expect to be attacked by that kind of beasts so far from the extrem south of Harad.
Under the ambush effect, his troops was in hight dificulties in front to those great enemies. One by one, the variags was falling to the ground lifeless.
To save his soldiers, Tûvshinbât decided to charge these massive Half-Troll to let them the time to retreat. Every Variags present this day was thought that he never could defeat all those savage beasts.

Tûvshinbât is also known to have defeated several half trolls and saved his men during an ambush. A feat that earned him the title of «The scourge of Half-Troll».

Historical summary : Scout Riders

Hello everyone!
Today we want to show you one of the unit

Historical summary:

The Scout Rider was the first troops lead by Ûbesêsh when he was still a young future Khan.
Like Ûbesêsh and Tûvshinbât, the Scout Riders are Variags of Ûmkhân.
They are light rider which move fast. They are experimented archers able to shoot their target while being on horseback. Later, Ûbesêsh decided that each of his scout riders should learn how to handle melee weapons to be able to join the battlefield in any situations.

Before joining Sauron in his fight against free peoples, the Scout Ride rused to hunt the orcs deserters who crossed their lands. They are discreet opponents who never miss their targets.

Unit description :
The scout riders are accessible from the start of the game, they are cheap mounted archers useful to disperse the enemy troops. They can be upgraded with heavy armor forged blade and barbed arrows. They become able to switch between melee/distance when Ûbesêsh is level2 and unlock "Cavalry Tactic".

Hi all!

Historical summary : Heavy Riders

Historical summary :
Like the regular Khand infantry, the soldiers who make up the horde of heavy riders come from many tribes. They are strong cavalry able to broke many lines. Their shields allow them to resist against the enemy spears and their armor has been renforced to better resiste to the enemy arrows.
It is an attack unit, even if they are robust, their strong point remains their powerful damage capacities. The heavy rider handle two kind of weapons in a same horde, a war axe to break the enemy shield during the charge and a short and lightweight Khandish sword to kill the enemies who would dare to approach too much in the melee fights.

Abilities:

- NoLevel = Heavy units: The heavy units are already upgraded with forged blades when the player recruit them.
- Heavy horsmen (passive ability): All the 1 minutes , the heavy riders are able to charge a spearman horde without receive any damages. However when this ability his actived the riders lost 50% of their rapidity for 25 secondes
- Unlocked by SpellBook = Weather resistance (passive): All the Khand units are now immunised against the severe weather and become more resistant to element like fire.

Note that the elite rider have been changed like some other units, we will so update our Khand Faction plan with all the new informations and pictures after the end of the Advent Calendar ;)

Batsaïkhân & Enkhsaïkhân, Sons of Ûbesêsh

Hi everyone! Today we post only a small part of story because we will wait Ûtanvâh to tell you the whole story of the Three sons of Ûbesêsh.
We still show you their new model which has been reworked recently and offer a small summary to tell you a who they are :

Batsaïkhân & Enkhsaïkhân are twins, they are two of the three sons of Ûbesêsh.
Batsaïkhân is a good archer able to hit a very distant target. He is also a good rider. Enkhsaïkhân handle a axe. Even if young, he is a stong fighter which know already the art of the war.
Both have some experience with the battle strategies and the armies comand. In fact, their father already gave them to responsibiliy to lead some part of his armies during battles in the past.

Utanvâh, Son of Ûbesêsh

Hi! Today we decided to post one of the two Variation that we totally reinvented for Utanvâh.

Only a small reminder :
Utanvâh was the first son of Ûbesêsh, he is a strong warrior able to defeat the greatest heroes of Middle Earth. He is a polivalent fighter which now the art of war in many situation. He is an excelent bowman, an impressive swordman and one of the best rider of Khand.

When it is in melee stance, he use two sword which allow him to defeat until three enemy at time.

Historical summary : The Sons of Khand

Hello everyone and sorry, I'm a little late this evening. As we had promise some days ago, here is the historical summary of the Three Ûbesesh sons :

The first of them is Ûtanvah. He have in mind that only the best one of him or his brothers would be able to take the succetion on his father. Eager for power, he began to practice the handling of the swords from an early age to become the war master than he is. Powerful with his Swords or his Bow, on foots or mounted, for him, the real value of a Khan can only be prouved at combat. And for this, he want to defeat the best warriors on the west such as Boromir that is reputed even in the lands of Khand. When he feel a great duel, he take his Royal Armor and goes on the battlefield.

Enkhsaïkhân and Batsaïkhân are twins. They are like their big brother entitled to become the future Khaghân of Khand. But the twins, not as strong as Ûtanvâh, they don't wanted to follow the way of the warrior. They learnt how to fight, to ride and to shoot but, they quickly begin to learn the battle strategy. A fact which made them wiser than their brother Ûtanvâh. They are now at the head of part of the Khand armies. In combat, both complement each other, Enkhsaïkhân charge the enemies in melee handling his axe at time than Batsaïkhân eliminate the distance enemies with his bow.

Nevetheless, even if they often fight together, one elements separate them. Batsaïkhân have a great respect for his older brother Ûtanvâh and would like to see it as Khaghân. Enkhsaïkhân secretly jealous his brother Ûtanvâh. He would like to confront to him to become the master of Khand hisself. But, he is wise enough not to make a decision that would harm Khand's unity. Batsaïkhân is the only one which know that secret.

Rocks and Cliffs for Khand + Map builders system

Hi! Today we want to speak about a new system for people which like to make maps.

As we said in a old post, we worked on Rocks and Cliffs elements for our maps.
But they are not simply decorative elements :
As you already known, our Submod will work with maps and, the art of mapping is the central task for us. We like to work on giant architectures and we want to help all the mappers to release their project.

In An Edain Submod, the props will get options of personalisation.
1) Instead of made object already finish, we prefer to make object segments will wich allow you to build your maps with your own interpretation.
We know that a map which own too many objects are hard to load for the game and, that's the reason why we find a balance between that system of personnalisation and the numbers of objects. For example, for the forest map, we decided to make models with grouped trees in the one object. Worldbuilder will so read only one object for something like 20 trees. Note there will be some group with diferrent size (5/10/20/30 Trees). An option which will also allow the map builder to work faster.
2) We also introduced a texture option, I explain with an example :
In the current version of WorldBuilder, when you put a unit on your map you have some upgrade availibe to tick for him. We made the same thing for the props. For example, the rocks and cliffs you can see on the following picture https://zupimages.net/up/19/51/bvkj.jpg will get some textures options which will allow you to put until two differents retexturization on the same object type present on the one same map.
→ This system will be use to bring some other sttings like object geometry, or visibility.
→ We added two new categories of objects : "For map settings" and "Natural objects".

The scourge of Half-Troll

Hi all, today we introduce the second part of the Tûvshinbât story.


Historical summary:

"One day, Tûvshinbât was patrolling next to the Near Harad with a few numbers of men when he was attacked by sevaral half-trolls. He did not expect to be attacked by that kind of beasts so far from the extrem south of Harad.
Under the ambush effect, his troops was in hight dificulties in front to those great enemies. One by one, the variags was falling to the ground lifeless.
To save his soldiers, Tûvshinbât decided to charge these massive Half-Troll to let them the time to retreat. Every Variags present this day was thought that he never could defeat all those savage beasts.

Tûvshinbât killed the first beast by planting his spear directly in the heart, dodging the attack of the second Half-Troll, he success to powerfully throw his spear at another one which was immediatly diying at impact. There was now only one troll left, but Tûvshinbât had no more weapons. Without wasting time, he picked up a sword and an axe on the bodies of these soldiers lying on the ground and engaged a fight that lasted a few minutes. The Half-Troll was stronger but Tûvshinbât moves was fast and thorough. He ended up defeating his last enemy and was able to finally join these troops who acclaimed him as a hero!

A feat that earned him the title of «The scourge of Half-Troll». Nevertheless, the variags prefer to call it «Cherbí» which mean «Good man». They even renammed that place «Cherb-Kê-Vât» which means "Man who defeats". These land are now a part of the Khand kingdom."

Hi all! Here is the final armor of Ûbesêsh (fully upgraded).
Its story has remained somewhat unchanged even if we have brought some new details.

Historical summary:

"Ûbesêsh is the great Khan of Khand (said "Khaghân").
At the beginning, Khand was a land populated by viarags, all belonging to different tribes leaded by different Khan they all had a life of marauders.

Ûbesêsh being one of these Khans, he beholded the fact that the Khand peoples could never spread as long as these tribes bickering would perpetuate.
He decided to invade the lands of Khand, and to submit all the other Viarags tribes. Among the Viarags of Khand, tribes follow the strongest of them, he defeated every Khans in a fight to the death in order to prove his fighting ability.
A Khan is strong, if a Khan shows a sign of weakness, his people are abandoning him.

Ûbesêsh thus became the only Khan of the Viarags "Khaghân" (Khan of Khans) and managed to unite them all under one same banner that he called "The Greater Khand". Ûbesêsh was shortly after named "The Greater Khan" and decided to give up this life of marauders, he wanted more for his people, now he was not only pillaging the city but keeping it as a real point of defense, a location where intall themselves.

Ûbesêsh was a great warrior, but he was also the greatest strategist that Khand has known. He brought the siege weapon to Khand to allow his armies to invade the strongest cities, he brought the military art to allow this soldiers to win in in any battle condition.
He had three sons, his elder Utanvâh, heir of his throne and two twins Enkhsaïkhân and Batsaïkhân

Having conquered the totality of Khandish lands, Ûbesêsh turned his gaze to another lands and decided to invade the different kingdoms of Harad but, Sauron persuaded him to join him in his war against the free peoples of the Middle Earth ending the nascent war between Khand and Harad."

For sure the sounds dont sound like they're outside (the YT comment), but i cant see a problem with that. I mean that's all community work without any studio and for that it is really good and i enjoyed the voicelines! The accent is a good idea and  choice. How Khandish people should be and its like in my Imagination in my fanfiction!

hello everybody! I'm back from a long absence.
I started my new studies on this september, I so still have a lot of work with them and I will have again more work now than in my old formation. The covid definitely slowed us.
But, I will try to post a thing (article, picture, video ...) every two weeks to show you that we are still working on the submod and we're alway improving it!

As you know, we had reworked all the Khand units some mounth ago (before the covid). Now our old building model looks a bit strange next to our fresh unit design. That's the reason why I strated to rework them too. Firstly, we decided to show you the new citadel (some of you maybe had already seen it on Youtube).

Note I still not updated the Khand article. I will probably refresh it when I will have finish my work on the models and maps of Khand to be able to illustrate it with good pictures. I will also rework all my other articles from here (modding union) to make something clearer  :)

Nice work! It fits to the other buildings as well. 
The only thing that i have to critizise is that I miss some horses or other riding animals, so you will edit some horses.  :P

No worry, some mounted archer will shoot arrow on those three training targets (the anim is still not ready but that's planned for when we get time  ;) )

Today we want to show you something a little different from Khand (we going to show you another Khand building next time).
