Greetings everyone, I start this topic to introduce to you my SubMod.

I've started this SubMod to further extend the Edain Mod and make it more suitable to my map pack you might already know: "Glorfindel23's Map Pack (https://modding-union.com/index.php/topic,32454.0.html)".


This is a little SubMod, his mains goals will be :
- To add some units for the unexplored factions like the Evil Men (Rhun, Harad, Khand, Dunland, Umbar ect...)
- To allow me to create new textures for the buildings in my maps  in order to make them even more beautiful.
- To definitely fix the ButtonImage problem for all the CommandButtons added.
- To make other changes than I could not make by only using map.ini.
- To add some new practical Command Buttons (I will explain this later).

Introduction
Harad SubFaction functioning:

   The faction of Harad is unlocked in different ways which will be depending on the map:

On maps where the Harad player is not in a Castle, he will have to capture an ExpansionFlag which will give him the possibility to build an HaradOutpost (http://www.zupimages.net/up/16/34/9clk.png). It can be upgraded to unlock some units and heroes of Harad (It also generates a lot of money).
He can also capture an EconomicFlag which gives the player the possiblility to build a MumakilsPen.

When the player of Harad is in a Castle (Fortress maps) he has access to some buildings of Harad clicking on the build plots like on  any other fortress map.
The available buildings are:
- HaradStable -> Allows to recruit riders of Harad
- HaradArmory -> Allows to research the Harad units upgrades
- HaradBarracks -> Allows to train the Heavy Units of Harad
- HaraddrimPalace -> Allows to recruit Haradrims
- MumakilsPen -> Allows to train the Mumakils and the Mahud units
- Oase -> Heals allies and reduces the armor of ennemy units in its vicinity
- HaradTotem -> Reduces the cost of the mumakils

Wonderfull work. I miss Harad in Edain and this is exactly what i need :D

I saw your map in Kryptik's video. Looks great, although i think that Edoras looks very grey, i really like colors from original BFME1 map. Besides that, map is perfect for a fun siege games with friends.

At last, i hope that Turin would find some time to code and allow to update submodes from launcher  8-| :D

I've got a couple of questions about your submod Glorfindel.

If I understand Haradrim subfaction will be available in some map right ?

We need to choose Mordor (does the Haradrim Totem replace some buildings like Mordor Outpost, Minas Morgul or Dol Guldur ? Or is it another added, which means we can build 4 different outpost?)

Yes they are the same but now they are animated.

For your question this depending of the maps, for Exemple in the maps Minas Tirith (when I will rework her for the submod) the Mordor will able to construct :
HaradOutpost, RhunOutpost, MordorOutpost, and MinasMorgul Fortress.

In the maps Henneth Annun this will be:
MordorOutpost and HaradOutpost.

For a ForbidenPool I don't know, maybe.

Hello everyone, I post this message to inform you that I go in holiday two week, I will not have access to my computer and I will so not be able to work on my project during this time.

I return to my holiday and I post a small news for the submod:

I explain: like you said, the RhunCitadel is the same thing that the DolGuldurFortress and MinasMorgulFortress but this is not the only buildings of Rhun:

When the mordor is in one fortress of the Rhun like Mistrand the mordor will have some Rhun buildings (Stable, Barracks, Armory ...) but in the battlefield maps like Minas Tirith the Rhun will have only the Citadel.



This is a simple model without a lot of details because I prefer add some elements with WorldBuilder.

No, apart from jokes, as Fredius rightly pointed out, there is not the exact conception of religion as we have, speaking about Arda. The only cults that may be found could be minor ones that worship Morgoth (as the ancient source of the Evil), the Valar (more as a wish of the Elves to return to the Undying Lands) or past ancestors (Men generally consider the great characters of their past as sacred). If you are willing to, you might explore some of these aspects, if you want to implement a bit of a religious element in all factions (some statues or other religion-based monuments, for example).

Other than that, Morgoth and the Valar belong to a very far and obscure past for the people of the late Third Age. It's therefore quite unlikely that you will ever find those cults active or that type of religious structures  :)

You should add Thorin and the rest of his company in the cell, like that you can do a map with a script (Like Helm's Deep Horror) where Goblins and Dol Guldur Orcs came besieged Mirkwood to kill Thorin ;)

The units can walk on the top of the wall and use the stairs but they can't move on the wall of the door.

Credit to Botta mod for a big part of the texture and for the big axe model. I used the basic Dwalin model of Edain mod to make that.

The Morgul Stalkers are fast units which have a very good attack, they are very strong in melee vs the upgraded units.

I thought since a long time that the old sword model of Theoden was obsolete, I've so make a new sword model for it.

Hello everyone! I've decided to rework the old harad models.
I've not planned to change the old models except the Citadel, I will just improve the textures and add some elements the the original model without editing the old, the global building will stay the same.

Also, now when the building win upgrade level 3 he receive archers on his roof which defend the area.

Yes I use only some parts of the model like the head because the complete models of other games are often too big and this can create game slowdown.
 So yes I will use some model of Return of the King because it own models with a good size (not too big). :)

Hehe I extracted all the texture of return of the King and the texture of Merry, Pipin and Aragorn are exactly the same (DúnedainRanger wrote than he extract the model of aragorn from Return of the King):

The edain team is free to use all the models used by my submod.
I don't know if the model is not too big (for me it work perfectly without make the game slow-down).
Cause the citadel guard files are composed by three models and two texture files (each texture weighs 256kb and each model weighs 258kb).

Concerning the tower guard I will soon improve again the model than I already improved in the past (I will just rework a little the helmet).

For the textures I modified some textures already in edain and I create other thank to picture than I found on weta like this for example:

For the models I use some mesh of LotrConquest but quasi all the models are composed by modified mesh of edain model.

Me and the members of the team didn't like the old forged blade system which gave a strange appearance (like a sort of lightsaber).

We so decide to rework this system now the weapons upgrades will use a texture system like the armors upgrades.
