No offense Odysseus, but whenever he posted Haldir he mentioned that if he did HD units the game would become laggier when that battalion was on the map. He can only do heroes because there's only one of them :P
Yes, problem probably will occur with graphical "overweight" in game.
These are 1024x1024 HD textures (correct me if I am wrong xD ), and if every unit in battalion would have textures of that "size" and guality, that will probably make problems. Game will require much more in memory and other resources to work smoothly. That is main problem with those HD textures I think.
Yes, both of you are correct. I have been part of past mods which faced the very same issues. However, some of the skins for a couple of units in-game still date back from the older versions of Edain, and I believe it is possible to add a similar level of quality for the Tower Guards that for instance, the Gondor Soldiers received, without stressing the engine too much. This is quite evident, especially with most of the troops that have been redone so far to ET's highest and most actual quality standard.
In the worst case scenario, the textures wouldn't even have to be 1024x1024, as long as the Easterling face is corrected/improved, if you catch my drift. Either way, magickoala's skills are a godsent, for if he wishes to, he can take care of the minor and major aesthetical annoyances or inconsistencies found by the community, and that ET deem to be less important for the current timeframe, and we all know that that means that ET can focus on more important things
