Finally, finally, FINALLY!!!
I have wanted a War in the North Fornost map in Edain mod for so long, and I'm glad someone is gonna take up the challenge of doing it xD.
I can't wait to see pics ;).

Wow, it looks amazing; most of it captures the feel of Fornost's gate level in War in the North :).
I have some suggestions though:
-It would look more like in the War in the North if you remove the trees from the citadel-part and make the citadel look more like this:

As you can see in the far background of this picture, there are pine trees on the hills behind Fornost: http://tolkiengateway.net/w/images/d/d6/The_Lord_of_the_Rings_War_in_the_North_-_Fornost.jpg
So maybe you can add those trees to the hills in your map? And also make some pine forests in front of the walls of Fornost, like in the picture (you can use the Iron Hills pine Tree from WorldBuilder?)

And also, add some iron spikes to the ruins of the citadel and around it, like in Witn.
These are just suggestions, though, I think the map will be better with them, but it is great already ;).

those spikes and buildings are from the gobelins i would do this map like a place of the rangers, but i could do a second one with gobelins influence :)

Oh I understand, but yeah it would be great if you did a second version with the goblin buildings and spikes, I hope it won't be too much :).
Consider my other suggestions also ;) And again, the map looks awesome anyway.

^^Well I really like the map, and I'm sure others do too :).
I'm patiently waiting for more progress pics on both the Ranger-influenced version and the Goblin-influenced version ;).

Looks nice so far. It's definetly an interesting alternative to the snowy BfMe Version. ^^
The amphitheater in the corner is a cool little detail from the BfMe Map though.

Thanks ^^ I'm trying to keep the basic map, I put an atmosphere more like in war in the north, I think that even if it was the witch king who destroyed the city, his influence won't be so strong and for a so long time :)

Lord Ellasar this map is great! I love the Rhudaur map to. You are a really good map maker cant wait to play this one!

Actually one of the things I like about the War in the North Fornost is that the game emphasises on how the Witchking had his residence set up at Fornost, and so the metal spikes and the Black citadel tower are some leftover ruins from the Witchking's rule after he was driven out. :)
Anyway, as I said, both versions look really great. And I agree, I can't wait to play the map (both versions :P) ^^

^^ it is really nice to hear that ^^ ... I think i will make to alternative to this one, the first one; Fornost the ranger old stronghold, the second: Fornost; the gobelin base and finally the basic one where you can play every faction into the fortress,... :) I'm also working on hobbiton, Ost in Edhil, Carn Dum (snowy with the witch king influence), Rhunear (capital of Rhun), and some mission maps with the last alliance and Arnor (for those one I'm waiting for imladris and the iron crown), i also will make some others Arnor cities like Hoarwell or Annuminas, i project to make a map with bree and well those are the first :) if you have some interesting ideas i take :)
I'll try to end those one before the end of this holidays, I'll also work on Carn Dum directly when they give us angmar faction. :)
As you can see into my first map I'm using sometimes scripts or market place to take for exemple I will make farms, mines, fishing ports, ... That give you money when you take it... On this map when you are playing rangers you have directly some camps but to earn money you have to take some camps that give you money and you have to defend it :)

Very very interesting point of vue indeed the witch king could make fornost as his own fortress, so I won't put the dark citadel at the same place of the actual citadel, maybe in place of the big building or something else :)

I had an idea about the Goblin-influenced citadel: maybe you can merge the regular Ranger and Goblin citadel by doing this: try placing the EttenmoorsGoblinFortress Tower (I think this was its name in WorldBuilder) in the middle of the big dome of the Fornost citadel (Ranger-influenced) and maybe some Mordor flags around it, and see how it turns out ;).

Maybe you're right, but I still think it's more interesting if the Goblin citadel is combined with the Ranger citadel, it would look more interesting in my opinion at least, and it's basically the innermost and most secure part of the city, so...
But anyway, it's your decision, I'm just making suggestions :).

As you can see I have done all of the left side, there, there is less ruins because for it was where lived the poor people of the city :)

As I have already said, brilliant work! The left/finished part looks great, and I can't wait to see how will the parts that are more filled with ruins look ;).

Yes, because I have finished the version with rangers camps I'm beginning this one :) but warning because when I will post it you won't have goblins into the fortress so I will put mordor orcs and isengard ourouks... When the misty mountains will be realise I will make an update where you will be able to play as the goblins into the ruins, before that, you will have one camp on a corner of the fortress and one outside and the center with orcs will be creeps :)

Hey lord_ellessar, since you uploaded the Ranger-influenced version of Fornost on ModDB, when are you going to upload the Goblin-influenced version? :)

I didn't really know if I should post it when the goblins came or the earliest possible, :)
In the map you have some "bugs" due to the skin hidding, so i think i will wait the update with the gobellins :) sorry for that, I'm also working on a map with the iron hills and on the elven stronghold, the elven stronghold will have to wait the imladris update and carn Dum the angmar update, when angmar will be available I'll working on some mission maps where you defend Arnor ;) so the next map will probably be the iron hills then carn Dum and finally some mission maps :)

Ok, the Goblins will probably be released in or after the summer, so I can wait until then ;).
And those maps you will be making sound interesting, especially the Iron Hills :).

I must say I really like the Goblin-version of Fornost, except for one single thing: the textures of the keep. It's ok you want to show the wasteland and the corruption of the city after its fall, but I really don't like the textures you used, they look too monochrome, while in reality you would have different shades and degrees of barren rock and dirt terrain. Other than that, really impressive work, especially the custom buildings^^

Nice Map. Kind of interesting to see Fornost not snowy ;)
