Is your firewall or anti virus blocking the program to make an connection to the internet?

nope, checked it...  :(

Does this always happen or did you try it again? I am quite sure that something blocks the program from getting internet acess if it always happens. Which anti virus and firewall are you using?

I uninstalled both Rotwk and edain and re-installed them. same thing. I am using AVG Internet security 2011.

Turin Turumbar:
AVG is known for blocking every kind of applications. Did you make an exception for the Edain Mod Launcher?
