I was playing a skirmish against gondor and I realised, that they were more attacking than defending their own fortress, what is the utility of the fortress if you are always outside, I mean I think that the factions like dwarves, Angmar, rohan, Gondor, and (coming) Imladris should be more defensive in the early game, not cheap defensive with one troup of archers and it is over but a real defence, they should make catapults, archers fully upgraded and soldiers defending the top of the walls :)

The AI is very stubbornly hard-wired to attack, and that is unfortunately quite difficult to change. However, they also do build defenses now in 4.3 :)
