Antique Lyrics of Arda
Walküre:
Kin of Durin, too much you have dug
Content and merry you once were in your broad halls,
But malice made you dig too deep, attracting creeping shadows and a very foul of a foe.
Walküre:
Do not let thyself be swayed by evil snares
Frail man, do not let thyself be swayed by evil snares,
A gift to thy kind was granted, to depart from Eä's halls and towards unknown destinations to head.
Walküre:
Why doesn't it act?
Why doesn't it act, I ask myself?
The World needs its help, and all say that anything it may.
Wrong is he, who thinks it shall act in this world,
For silent it remains, upon its throne, to contemplate its Plan as it unfolds.
Walküre:
Waiting along the shore
We shall wait along the shores of the blue,
For how much time we do not know,
The presence of our lord we crave, for long among plains and hills us he led,
But he is not now, and they say a new kingdom among woods he would fain found.
Walküre:
Asunder they shall not tear us
Many toils, sorrows and tragedy, the main theme of the Noldor's melody,
But grave tones harmony shall not mar and our proud House they shall not tear asunder.
