Antique Lyrics of Arda
Walküre:
Oceans, seas, waves and rivers...
Water is the path we shall tread and govern,
Our might spreads and far reaches the outer continent,
The seas we passed and the coast we rule,
People there offer gifts and us in awe worship.
The proud kind of all the mortal ones that stands close to the Powers' sunny domain.
Walküre:
The Clothes of the Powers
Nay, the Powers in their broad majesty could not appear,
Lest Elves or Men great dread have, towards the guardians of their own dwelling,
And so they elected to veil their mighty being, with flesh and blood as cloth,
Yet a witty eye and an acute ear some remnants of the truth might perceive, when they their might manifest render and among each other words exchange in an unknown tongue.
Walküre:
Free, be thou
Ilúvatar awakens the mortal kind.
Free, be thou free and loose! To wander, to talk, to craft with thy hands and my glory to make greater,
Beware all and may the hopeless Evil hearken: thou shalt not dwell in a cage and within boundaries be constrained, if not by my Gift only which thee back to me shall bring.
Walküre:
The Evil hath dwelt there
The gentle and fair Vanyar ask with much concern: what hath been of the long shores in the South, eerie and that shadow always veileth?
The Maia shall fain respond: the Evil hath dwelt there, my noble, devouring the Old Light and with the Enemy consorting, as a visible scar on this hallowed continent left.
Walküre:
Water is not with thee
Ulmo opposes the release of Melkor from his three-era captivity.
Water is not with thee, this hour, my brother,
Thou art the head of this council and us with wisdom thou leadest,
But mercy may only in truth be granted, to the one that repenteth and all hatred forsweareth,
And now the seed of the Evil from the Gaol was liberated, free to spread his endless grudge and malicious will.
Thou dost wrong, Manwë, and thy choice I shall not support.
