Antique Lyrics of Arda
Walküre:
Solitary Lady
Solitary Lady, shores near the infinite thou wanderest,
At the ends of the ends thou lone dwellest,
Ways to the many forbidden thou silent treadest,
Thread of sorrows, laments and memories of somber kind.
Walküre:
A golden gaol it is!
The Craftsman of the Jewels addresses the crowd in Kôr.
Subjects, valiant and skilful kind of these undying shires,
You I have gathered along the squares of Kôr of many towers and palaces,
Amidst the wonders which our very hands have crafted,
Hither we have come, to do without the vain words hitherto said,
My father hath been assassinated, by the very Enemy that the Powers to free from captivity decided,
Ye may have wandered what to do now, when the bliss of the Trees us hath forsaken and it shall be so in perpetuity,
The Enemy, a cursed name now he beareth, hath marred the splendour of this sunny domain, and our precious Jewels he took with theft,
The worst crime hath been committed and the utmost revenge it thus commandeth,
The bright Powers I shall not trust,
The seed of the Evil they have let grow in their own realm,
The ambitions of our fiery kind they have caged,
For this I shall never cease to state, a golden gaol the Blessed Realm became.
Walküre:
Eyes in the Night
Claws, fangs and horrible death,
The pass in the ravine was in the end bewitched,
Haunted by ghosts and horrors by magic assembled,
This is the art of the mighty Sorcerer who in the fortress dwelleth, many shapes he may take and the Tyrant serveth with malicious will.
Walküre:
We are the ones who never falter
We are the one who shall not falter, undimmed our piety and adamant the loyalty,
With patience the coming of the Immortals on Númenor we wait for, for any visit of theirs is to be a jubilation of ours.
Walküre:
Wailing Angel
Such a sorrowful tragedy for a mother, but even more for whom her daughter the most used to love,
An immortal pearl among the trodden mortal ways, said to be the fairest and the mightiest of her kind,
But the Angel content was, to know that her kin the imperishable love had found,
Yet, the sudden murder of her noble husband, the king who would never have died, a void with no solution created in her life, and then the Angel vanished from this world to depart for her holy shires beyond the sea, wailing and mourning for her sad fate.
