I've enjoyed the new game modes made by the Edain Team, even when they're sometimes unstable and have a few game-breaking bugs. I thought I would introduce some ideas for new game modes that could be experimented with.
Siege Mode
Buildings get a big boost to health and armor, and all buildings get arrow towers built into them. This mode encourages the usage of siege weapons as opposed to swarms of soldiers.
Regicide
Each player starts out with their faction's Ring Hero on the field. If that player's ring hero dies, they lose the game.
Deathmatch
Each player starts out with 5000 resources and command points, and the build time of units and buildings is dramatically reduced. This makes for quick and furious games with a lot of battles in a short amount of time.
Hunt for the Ring
When a player's ring hero picks up and holds the ring, a timer starts up. When the timer runs out, the player who has the ring wins and everyone else loses. When they lose the ring, the timer stops and resets. Players can also be eliminated by being destroyed.
Legends of Middle Earth
All heroes have DOUBLED health, damage, and armor, and HALVED ability recharge time, resource cost, command points cost, and recruit time. An overhaul of the “Legendary Heroes” mode to make the hero unit boosts much better, and helping the game mode be much more unique and playable.
Time Limit
There is an adjustable time limit, and the score of each player is shown on the screen. The player with the highest score at the end of the time limit wins the game.
Juggernaut
One player, who is selected in the skirmish menu, is the Juggernaut. The Juggernaut starts the game with a lot of resources and command points, and all of their units and heroes are recruited at max level. All of the other players are normal.
Monster Master
One player, who is selected in the skirmish menu, is the Monster Master, who starts the game in control of every monster lair on the map. The Monster Master also starts with a camp, but they can also recruit monsters from their monster lairs (goblins, spiders, orcs, trolls, wargs, wights, etc), and they also have access to a special spellbook full of powers that summon more monster lairs and swarms of monsters, as well as a number of super monsters like the Watcher Kraken, Summoned Dragon, Balrog, or Giant Wolf.
