visual aspect of the Iron hils alied sub-faction, the dwarves of Ered-Mithrin.
The inspiration for this suggestion came while i was browsing some WETA Workshop concept art of dwarven armors for the Hobbit trilogy. As soon as i saw one concept i immediatly thought that it perfectly fits to the monster slayer dwarf aesthetics of the sub-faction.
The key improvoments that this redisign offers are the folowing :
-Concept based on WETA Workshop designs for this unit will perfectly fit with the looks of the main dwarf factions as they are also based on WETA designs . ( The looks are similar but still different enough, for example : iron hills helmet compared to this suggested design, both have sharp edges and a more to say blocky look, they are similary fashioned but still difrent in shape, compared to the curent ered-mithin slayer helmet which is more round in design and is quite different compared to the weta dwarf helmets )
- The added facemask of the weta concept art visualy displays why the slayers have imunities from elemental(fire, ice... ) and poision sources. The facemask, together with the whole armor represents dwarven ingenuity in overcoming natural hazzards, it protect the wearer from direct jets of flame, from frostburns and posible animal attacks that would attack weak spots like eyes or the neck.
The curent models have a standard helmet and long beards, which is fine if they would face regular infantry, but as specialised dragonslayers their unprotected heads combined with long beards make them look ill prepaired for facing firespiting enemies and dont visualy represent their imunities.
- The axe/hammer weapon can be made into a 1-hand version, one side use for slashing and cutting of limbs of smaler beasts like spiders, wargs or the ocasional orc and the blunt one for breaking bones and skulls of thick-skined and more formidible monsters such as trolls or drakes. Its dual design further enforces the monster slayer theme as it is more parctical to simply rotate the shaft in batle when the situation requires it, rather then geting your second weapon out in the heat of battle.
Im not sure if i had properly linked the image so i attached the WETA concept as a backup for people in orde to see it.
