Evangeline Lilly will be playing a new character—the Woodland Elf, Tauriel. Her name means 'daughter of Mirkwood' and, beyond that, we must leave you guessing! (No, there is no romantic connection to Legolas.) What is not a secret is how talented and compelling an actress Evangeline is; we are thrilled and excited she will be the one to bring our first true Sylvan Elf to life.

 

I'm also highly excited that Barry Humphries will be portraying the Goblin King, in much the way Andy Serkis created Gollum. Barry is perhaps best known for his business and social connections as the long-time manager of Dame Edna Everage. He has also been an ardent supporter of the rather misunderstood and unfairly maligned Australian politician, Sir Les Patterson. However, in his spare time, Barry is also a fine actor, and we're looking forward to seeing him invest the Goblin King with the delicate sensitivity and emotional depth this character deserves.

 

Evangeline and Barry, along with Welsh actor Luke Evans as Bard and Benedict Cumberbatch as Smaug, just about rounds out the major casting. I cannot wait to get stuck into these new scenes!

Hmm also ich kann mir Evangeline Lilly zwar nicht wirklich als elegante Elbe aus dem Düsterwald vorstellen, aber nunja was solls.
Auf die Umsetzung des Ork-Königs bin ich allerdings schon sehr gespannt, vor allem wenn er die gleiche Technik wie Andy Serkins bekommt.

Also die Elbin finde ich interessant. Endlich ist das ganze Rumgerätsel um die ominöse Itaril vorbei. Und so ein bisschen weibliche Unterstützung finde ich optisch ganz ansehnlich.  [ugly]

Orks sind immer gut, nur frage ich mich, wen genau er mit "Goblin King" meint. Ich nehme mal an Bolg, allerdings hätte er dann auch dessen Namen verwenden können. Nur ob sie den Großen Ork gleich zu einem König aufwerten?

Ich seh' das ganz entspannt, da ich ohnehin davon ausgehe, dass das Flair des Hobbits aufgrund der Blockbusteransprüche des Projekts nicht wirklich rüberkommt. Die größeren Hinzuerfindungen sind mir klar, ich freue mich auf einen hoffentlich guten Fantasyfilm :). Von daher kann die Elbin kommen.

Mal gespannt, welcher Ork das ist.

Nun die Evangeline Lilly sieht ja mal nicht schlecht aus xD
Ich persönlich habe gar nichts gegen erfundene Charaktere, solange sie auch in das Herr-Der-Ringe Schema korrekt eingegliedert werden und es nicht alzu viele Logikfehler gibt. Aber ich glaube Peter Jackson bekommt das schon richtig hin, sonst wären die anderen Filme auch nichts geworden; ich fand sie sensationnel ;)

Ich seh das Mittlerweile ganz ähnlich wie Lord Of Anor.
Wenn man die Erwartungshaltung hinter sich lässt den Hobbit als etwas anderes, mit eigenem Flair und Schwerpunkten, zu erleben wird man vermutlich nicht enttäuscht.
Das Peter Jackson einen sehenswerten Film zustande bringt steht vermutlich außer Frage.
