Und das ist ein gutes Beispiel wie die Geschichte verdreht werden könnten. Ich bevorzug halt Elben daher werden sie ins rechte Licht gerückt xD.
Die Zwerge würden sagen sie hätte seit jeher ein Anrecht auf das Nauglamir die Arbeit ihrer Väter.

Beide haben iheren Anteil an diesem Konflikt, aber Elben sind halt Stolz und Zwerge stur ;).

Die Geschichte um das Nauglamir ist mir auch direkt eingefallen, aber ich frage mich, ob es nicht mehr vergleichbare Konflikte gegeben hat. Denn dass beide Arten sich von diesem Tag an misstrauen, klingt seltsam.

Ich denke, dass die Vernichtung Eregions durch Sauron und das Schließen des Hulsten-Tores ein wesentlicher Beitrag dazu war, den Konflikt weiter anzufachen. Ich kann mir gut vorstellen, dass überlebende Elben den Zwergen vorwarfen, erst eingeschritten zu sein, als Sauron mit Eregion schon fertig war, und die Zwerge die "überlegene" Schmiedekunst der Elben klauen wollten.

Wie man vielleicht im Arda-Quiz schon gelesen aht bin ich über eine rehct interessante Diskussion gestolpert, nach der die Möglichkeit besteht, das der Arkenstein ein Silmaril sein könnte. Spezifischer der, mit dem Maedhros sich in eine Lavaspalte oder was auch immer stürzte.

Was haltet ihr davon? Ich finde diese Diskussion recht interessant, weiß aber nicht so recht, was ich davon halten soll. Eines der interessanterne Argumente (das andere aus der Diskussion aufgreift) ist das hier (es gibt da recht viele interessante Postes mMn und zuviele zum zitierne :D)

These two fact, to me, point to the Arkenstone being a silmaril. I disagree that the long darkness was the cause of its dimness. All three silmarils were in Angband in an essentially light less state for centuries. Instead, I belive this is further evidence for the Arkenstone as the silmaril of Earth.

If the silmaril was in the molten heart of the earth, a layer of lesser gems could have accumulated on it. This substance would be softer then the silmaril (although everything is softer then the silmarils) and would have been a less perfect transmitter of light to and from the gem.

The other substance might also explain the lack of lusting after the gem. As elves and men were not effected everywhere in Arda by the silmarils so there must have been a factor of distance. Also when in the bowels of Carcharoth the hunters did not lust after the gem. This points to other material insulating the children against the desire to possess the silmarils.

I do wonder though why Ulmo or Osse have not gotten the other one. I mean they have free reign of the ocean and the thing is impossibly valuable and extraordinarily beautiful. It seems like lazyness that they haven't recovered that one.

Or perhaps they have and Tolkien didn't relate it. Or perhaps the Valar have some knowledge we were not given.

Ist das Ganze nicht ein Detail aus dem Hobbit und muss man den Hobbit nicht als "differenzierten" Kanon betrachten, der in vielem nicht ganz so stark mit dem Rest der Geschichte übereinstimmt? Würde ich lediglich meinen.
