Antique Lyrics of Arda

<< < (7/253) > >>

Walküre:
Lúthien I.

Royal daughter of holy blood,
Whose beauty and grace anything on Arda surpassed,
Love a cursed fortress tore apart and the Enemy made kneel,
For she was in truth the fairest and mightiest of the Firstborns.

Walküre:
Lúthien II.

Her songs could tame the foulest beasts and stone shatter,
The Judge too by her lament was swayed,
As her in front of the hardest choice he put,
She chose love and from the World forever departed.

Walküre:
Númenor.

The mighty realm of the Five-Pointed Isle,
By one of the two royal twins founded, when he elected mortality and glory,
Closest land to the immortal shires out of all the other ones,
Fertile gift of the Powers, from whom the valiant Men their longer life got,
Much they are destined to rule and our fate to determine.

Walküre:
The Grinding Ice.

Desolation of ice and silence,
A path that the Powers only dared to tread,
Against all intruders it was a horrific defence,
The deadliest test for the Noldor and for whom them led.

Walküre:
The first of two compositions regarding Imladris. The enchanted valley at the slopes of the Misty Mountains. Considered the last homely place left in the western lands, it often symbolised protection and rest for anyone in need.

Imladris I.

An ancient sanctuary lies in that valley,
That secrecy hides and naught could break,
Serene resting or thorough studying one may be pleased by,
As well as all things that make the spirit noble and wisdom rekindle.
