Antique Lyrics of Arda
Walküre:
Imladris II.
The Lord of the valley ever-vigilant remains,
It is told that his prowess the bliss there sustains,
The kindest host of gentle travellers,
Neither journeys nor quests this shelter on their way forget.
Walküre:
The Gaol.
A gigantic gaol in the grey fields of Mandos,
From which none may escape or through break,
Be he of the feeble Men, an Elda, a wise Maia or a mighty Vala who much can,
The Enemy there was chained and three long eras still had lain.
Walküre:
Ilúvatar.
Before time, space and anything foreseen, the One has always been,
''Be it!'' it said once, and Eä then was.
Walküre:
The Ainur.
The bright Ainur later came, the One's first and prime descent,
Long they listened and much thought, until time was proper and Eä they entered.
Walküre:
Children of Ilúvatar.
Of Ilúvatar only they are the grandest deed,
Elves are mighty and the wisest of all, living until Arda shall indeed be,
Men are frail and many things suffer, yet glory their memory bears and the gift of Death by the One to them was granted,
And like the powerful Vala who much can, the humblest man the never-perishing Flame in his heart keeps and saves.
