i deleted the folders of bfme 2 and rotwk but i'm getting the same error
i am no longer getting the "elven arrow side", but the invalid sound one

Please take a screenshot of your RotWK folder, upload it to a site like imgur.com and post the link here. The upper half of the folder should be sufficient, files below dbghelp.dll shouldn't matter.

ok so i uninstalled edain, then installed the 4.5 version directly (the version i had was 4.3, then i updated it)

the game now starts, but i'm getting the same issue i was getting at the very beginning with the game crashing to desktop after a few minutes

Does this always occur after three minutes? In that case it's probably the autodefeat bug due to the copy protection by EA. How are you running the game? Are you using images?
